Texas Campaign for the Environment Advocacy Day

Registration is closed for this event

Texas Campaign for the Environment members, staff and allies are welcome to join us for our bi-annual Advocacy Day! We will be meeting with legislators representing our members from all 181 state districts to discuss important environmental issues such as:

  • Protecting local control for cities to address conservation and pollution concerns.
  • Defending the rights of Texas property owners to challenge nearby polluting facilities in court.
  • Keeping toxic items out of landfills by supporting producer takeback recycling legislation for batteries, similar to the TV and Computer Takeback laws passed in previous years.

For more information about these issues, click here to see a presentation created for the House Environmental Regulations Committee. Factsheets for each of these issue areas with bill members are forthcoming. To learn more about protecting local control, check out this website: LocalControlTexas.org.

Meeting with your Elected Officials:

We will schedule meetings for you and your representatives so you can talk to them face to face about why these issues matter to you! We also provide detailed training for how to talk to your lawmakers effectively.

Location: The room number where we will meet in the Capitol Extension in the morning is Room E2.022 which is on the bottom floor of the underground extension off the main hallway on the left side just northwest of the open-air rotunda. In the afternoon, we will be based out of Room E2.020 which is on the southeast side of the open-air rotunda.
